One Word Summary: Return
One Sentence Summary: Return invites me to revisit the past, reclaim what still belongs to me, and bring it home.
The Six of Hearts is memory as medicine, the return of sweetness after sorrow. I revisit my own story not to relive it, but to reclaim it. Joy comes back soft, familiar, and forgiven.
At the ripe old age of 53 years old as I write this, I have had my fair share of mix-ups, slip-ups, & fuck-ups. There are choices I regret; there are choices I don’t regret but hate that got out; and there are things I am proud of that make me cringe.
When I think about it, I also look at the consequences and the aftermath. Did I make the situation better?
Did I make it safer?
Was it fun?
Or did I just make a mess of everything? And if I did make a mess of everything, was I supposed to?
Because sometimes (sometimes) I’m sent in to keep the situation from being worse, and other times (sometimes), I’m there to eliminate the situation in its entirety.
In practice, return asks me to visit what I have become through my choices.
I can remember an old home, an old love, an old dream, or an earlier version of myself without pretending everything about it was good.
I can retrieve what still belongs to me: the lesson, the laughter, the tenderness, the thing I loved before life taught me to put it away.
Returning does not require me to undo my growth or reopen a door that needed to close.
I am allowed to take the sweetness and leave the sorrow (and at least some cringe) where it belongs.
The past is not asking me to live there again.
Sometimes it simply offers something I am finally ready to bring home.
