The Eight of Hearts is the holy act of leaving, not with anger, but with reverence.
I outgrow spaces and callings, and I do not need to make them wrong to walk away.
Departure can be devotion.
In practice, release asks me to recognize when something has completed its work in my life.
I do not have to turn love into resentment just to make leaving easier.
Something can have been good, necessary, beautiful, even sacred, and still no longer belong to me.
I can be grateful for what was given without making gratitude a reason to stay.
I can bless a relationship, a dream, an old identity, or a season with it resting in my palms as I blow it into the Ether. I can smile in delight as it floats away.
I can even look at the pain from that time and find joy in what it taught me, and even humor once I’ve had some time to pass.
Leaving does not erase what mattered, and staying is not the only way to honor it.
Sometimes love asks me to hold on.
Sometimes love asks me to open my hands.
I trust myself to know when it is time to say thank you, goodbye, and go.
